Douglas “Doug” R. Moore

October 5, 1952 – January 17, 2018

Douglas “Doug” R. Moore, 65, Noblesville, was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis after a brave six-month battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and close friends as he passed peacefully. He was born on October 5, 1952 to Lloyd C. and Dorothy Bernice “Bee” (Poynter) Moore in Indianapolis.

Doug was a 1971 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School and was a field operations manager for Kermans Flooring for 37 years. He loved working with the youth, coaching basketball and serving as baseball commissioner and coach for Hamilton Southeastern Little League. Doug enjoyed fishing, playing cards with friends and watching his granddaughters in their various activities. Ultimately, his family was his pride and joy.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Cyndie Scott Moore; sons, Matt (Jody) Moore of Noblesville, Brian (Michelle) Moore of Greenwood and Brad (Alisa) Moore of Fortville; brothers, Steve (Bonnie) Moore of Greenfield and David Moore of Sheridan; and seven granddaughters, Maddie, Mariah, Rylie, Kelsey, Alivia, Sophia and Kaylee Moore.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Barb Moore and Lucinda Moore.

Doug had many friends. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandpa, coach and friend. Doug’s passing will leave a void in the many lives he has touched. We will hold tight to the many wonderful memories we have shared with him.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with Pastor Jeff Alexander officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
