Donald R. Adams, 69, Noblesville, passed away at Riverview Hospital peacefully with his children and family by his side on February 14, 2022. He was born in Mayfield, Ky., on June 28, 1952, to the late Randall D. Adams and Mary K. Rude.
Donald was a very simple man with a loving heart. He was dedicated to his family and loyal to a fault. He was giving of himself, his time, and his talents. He was extremely hard working. He worked for Buttz Excavating since opening in 1981 and was still employed full time. If he wasn’t working, you could find him mowing the yard, riding his golf cart, or fixing anything and everything. He had a very strong work ethic. He loved his wife so much and cared for her. He was a wonderful husband, father, papaw, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debra (Doane) Adams; children, Donnie Ray Adams Jr. (Janette) and Angie Van Hook (Jason); grandchildren, Kenley and Ashley Adams, and Isabella, Olivia, Seth, and Sam Van Hook; siblings, Ronnie Adams, Debbie Bowers (Raymond), and Gary Adams; several nieces and nephews, along with many longtime friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents listed above; stepfather, Bob Rude; and brother, Bobby Rude.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, with a funeral service beginning at 4 p.m. at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson. Reverend Byron Fritz will be officiating. Cremation will immediately follow. His ashes will be placed in his final resting place at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery by his family at a later date.
