“Interest in landscaping with natives is sky high but some people are reluctant to get started without seeing what is possible,” said Claire Lane, Urban Conservationist with the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD). “This yard tour is a great way to see how functional and beautiful natives can be in a formal HOA style home landscape.”

This free garden tour will take place Tuesday, July 30. Guests are welcome to stop by between 7 and 9 p.m. The exact location will be shared with registered participants days before the event, but it is in the area of 161st Street and U.S. 31 in Westfield. Cold drinks will be provided by Hamilton County Tourism Inc.

This yard tour coincides with the SWCD’s release of example native landscaping plans that provide a template for getting started with natives in your own home landscape. The landscape templates can be found at hamiltonswcd.org/landscape.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore the potential of native plants in your own garden and learn how to create a sustainable, wildlife-friendly outdoor space. Register for the yard tour online at hamiltonswcd.org/events.
