July 2, 1941 – October 9, 2019
Diana Marie McCullough-Biddle, 78, Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 9, 2019 at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville. Born July 2, 1941 in Sheridan, she was the daughter of the late Myron H. and Lulu Madge (Pickett) McCullough.
Diana was a 1959 graduate of Sheridan High School and held a Master’s Degree in Speech and Hearing from Purdue University. For many years she was a teacher in the Lee County, Fla., School System and a member of the Lee County Teachers Association.
When she wasn’t in the classroom, Diana loved spending time with her grandchildren. She shared her love of animals with them and never missed a chance to take them to the zoo or do some bird watching (or watching whatever critters happened to be around). She was also a collector of animal potholders. Those potholders came in handy when it was time to do a little baking. Cookies were her confection of choice, and since she was in charge of the oven, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin were always on the menu. Another favorite activity of Diana’s was swimming. She loved to be in the water – it really didn’t matter what the reason. As her health began to fail, Diana needed to start going to water therapy. This was a welcomed activity in her daily routine; for Diana, it was just a trip to the pool. In her later years she loved watching TV shows and movies on her VCR.
Diana is survived by her son, Brent Lee Biddle (Diana L. McDonald-Biddle), Bean Blossom; daughter-in-law, Julie Biddle-Pankau, Enterprise, Ala.; six grandchildren, Jackson Biddle, Zoe Biddle, Abigail Whitaker, Katie Biddle, Hanna Springer and Sarah Biddle; three great-grandchildren, Merida E. Whitaker, Lee D. Whitaker and Ryan Z. Springer; one brother, Dale H. McCullough, Westfield; and her sister-in-law, Marcia McCullough, Sheridan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Myron Zane Biddle; brother, Neil Meredith McCullough; sister-in-law, Loretta McCullough; and by Larry Lee Biddle on February 10, 2019. She and Larry were married on April 16, 1961 in Ojai, Calif.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan, with visitation from noon until the time of service. Burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan. Diana’s son Brent Lee Biddle will be officiating.
Memorial contributions may be presented to the Sheridan High School Scholarship Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
