The 31st season of Cool Creek Concerts began with an unforgettable evening as Der Polkatz, Indy’s premier polka band, took the stage at Cool Creek Park last Friday, May 30.
Known for their high-energy performances and playful blend of polka, rock, and folk influences, the 13-member band kicked off the summer series with style and heart.
The audience quickly filled the lawn with dancing, laughter, and cheers as Der Polkatz played a vibrant setlist featuring fan favorites like “I Don’t Wanna Do That,” “It’s Not Unusual,” and “Tequila.” With a wide array of instruments – from accordions and guitars to trumpets and trombones – the group kept the crowd moving from the first note to the last.
Der Polkatz’s performance set the tone for what promises to be a fantastic summer of live music at Cool Creek. The energy in the park was electric, and the crowd’s enthusiasm reminded everyone why this concert series has become a beloved tradition in Hamilton County.
The next concert is on Friday, June 13 with The Flying Toasters. For more information, visit MyHamiltonCountyParks.com.
