On Saturday, Aug. 3 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies Austin Rumer and Michael Firks were patrolling the blue parking lot at Ruoff Music Center when they were alerted to an unresponsive male. Upon finding him not breathing and without a pulse, Deputy Rumer administered Narcan, reviving the man. Seals Ambulance medics provided further aid, and he was transported to the hospital. This incident underscores the importance of quick action in life-threatening situations and highlights the vital role that Narcan plays in reversing opioid overdoses. Thanks to the swift response from Deputies Rumer and Firks, a life was saved that day.
