February 12, 1946 – January 24, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and joyful memories that we announce the passing of Dennis Herschel Justice, 78, Anderson, who left us on Friday, January 24, 2025. Dennis was born in Noblesville on February 12, 1946, to the late Herschel and Ethel (Ridge) Justice.
Dennis lived a life full of passion, laughter, and love. He met his match in Jeanne (O’Connor) Justice, and on August 24, 1985, they tied the knot, embarking on 40 wonderful years of marriage together. Their shared journey was filled with love, humor, and countless memories.
Dennis worked at Industrial Dielectrics, retiring in 2010 after years of dedicated service in Data Processing. Beyond work, Dennis’s true passion lies in his family, his community, and his hobbies. Dennis was a lifelong fan of classic cars and car shows, only to be matched by his love for Purdue sports and the Colts. He was known for his sense of humor, and many found themselves on the receiving end of a great story or two – often with a twist that only Dennis could provide.
Dennis was also a devoted coach, teaching and guiding young athletes in Little League. He grew up on a farm in Arcadia near Roberts Settlement, and that love of nature stuck with him throughout his life. Whether it was fishing, boating, or simply spending time with his family, he cherished those moments.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne Justice of Anderson; his son, Nicholas (Christi) Justice of San Juan, Puerto Rico; his daughter, Abigail Justice of Indianapolis; his granddaughter, Madison Justice; and his nephew, Alan (Andi) Brown of Zionsville; brothers-in-law, Philip O’Connor, Kerry (Tina) O’Connor, Patrick (Joyce) O’Connor, and Daniel (Becky) O’Connor; and sisters-in-law, Laura (Dan) Pitcock, Harriett (Martin) Russel, Janice (Tony) Martin, and Karen (Andy) Brock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Ethel Justice; his sisters, Luella Hodges and Judy Justice; and many friends who will miss his warmth and wit.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Hartley Funeral Home, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cicero, with Father Sean Pogue officiating.
