Dear Editor:
In a March 17 editorial, Fred Swift accurately assailed the state legislature’s failure to address school safety as a “lack of attention to serious matters … a lack of good leadership and it is shameful.” I could not agree more. Our legislature wastes precious time on matters benefiting special interest groups at the expense of protecting the citizens of Indiana.
Fortunately, the voters of Hamilton County will have the opportunity to elect new leadership in the state capital. The Hamilton County Democratic Party is fielding candidates for all state legislative positions – candidates who will listen to and work for their constituents. Isn’t it time to make a change?
