Hamilton Heights played Delta close in the first quarter, but the Eagles pulled away in the middle periods to deal the Huskies an 85-56 win Saturday night at Heights’ gym.
Delta led 19-18 after the first quarter, then jumped ahead 42-28 at halftime. The Eagles then outscored the Huskies 26-14 in the third period.
Gus Etchison scored 17 points for Heights, with AJ Field adding 14 and Hudson Hochstedler scoring 13. Field and Hochstedler each drained three 3-pointers. Field had five rebounds.
The Huskies are 4-2 and host Western on Friday in a Hoosier Conference East game.
