March 5, 1951 – March 31, 2022
Debbie Letourneau, Dover, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2022. She was born in Noblesville on March 5, 1951 and was a graduate of Noblesville High School – Class of 1969.
She met the love of her life and future husband, Reggie Letourneau in high school. They were married in 1972 and lived in the Noblesville area for the next five years. In 1977, they moved to the Tampa, Fla., area and raised their family in the Tampa area over the next 42 years together. Debbie loved Reggie very much and they supported one another through the ups and downs of their life together. They thrived while teaming up to start two electrical contracting businesses, L&L Electric of Tampa, and Blackbird Electric. She supported Reggie while being mother to two sons, Bryon and Cory.
Debbie loved sports of all kinds and was a mainstay at every sporting event her sons participated in from Little League baseball and soccer to high school and college basketball. She loved college basketball especially. She knew more about the game and participants than even her own sports-crazed men. March Madness was her favorite time of year, directly followed by Christmas. She loved Christmas so much that she had at least three Christmas trees every year and kept her Christmas decorations including her outdoor lights on nearly year-round. She and Reggie loved motorsports. They frequented NASCAR races in Daytona Beach, Fla., and most of all loved to go to the NHRA Drag Races. She and Reggie were glued to their bleacher seats many years watching the Gator Nationals in Gainesville, Fla., or their favorite the US Nationals in their beloved Indianapolis. In fact, just weeks before her death she got to attend one last Gator Nationals with her son Cory and grandsons Tristan and Gabe.
Mrs. Letourneau is survived by her mother, Martha Griffin of Kokomo, Ind.; her sister, Marcia Hunt of Tipton, Ind.; sons, Bryon Letourneau (wife, Lane) of Duluth, Ga.; Cory Letourneau (wife, Abby) of Dover, Fla.; and nine grandchildren, Bryn, James, Thomas, Tristan, Gabe, Maggie, Scarlett, Henry and Elsie.
In addition to her husband, Reggie, she was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Griffin.
There will be a celebration of life service held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, 197 S. 9th St., Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
Donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Brandon, Florida’s Compassion House.
