David Leon Foster, 94, Noblesville, and formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Five Star Senior Living in Noblesville. He was born in Darlington, Ind., on April 4, 1928, to the late D. Elmer & Ruth W. (Seybold) Foster.
David graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1946, and on January 9, 1948, he married Donna L. Coval, who preceded him in death on March 18, 2019. David worked at RR Donnelley’s for 44 years as a photo engraver before retiring in 1990. He was a member of Eagles 1005, Elks Club, Moose, and Masonic Lodge #50. He enjoyed tinkering, old antique cars, dancing, gardening, taking walks in the woods, sitting with his dog, and was quite the artist.
He is survived by two sons, Robert (Kathy) Foster of Noblesville and Bruce (Dawn) Foster of Franklinton, N.C.; daughter, Paula (Michael) Caldwell of Sellersburg, Ind.; two sisters, Mary Lou Henry of Crawfordsville and Pat Yount of Peoria, Ill.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna; two brothers, Robert G. Foster and Don Foster; and two sisters, Donnis Heath and Lucille Shahan.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with the funeral service at noon. The service will be live-streamed and recorded. which can be viewed on his obituary page at sandersfuneralcare.com. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Mausoleum.
