Throughout this year, and especially on National Vietnam War Veterans Day on March 29, a special focus is spent on reaching Vietnam veterans in private or public senior care facilities; specifically, those who may be challenged to attend public events honoring their service. The positive impact of seeking out and honoring these men and women and their families has proven immeasurable for those reached thus far.

Women’s History Month provides the perfect backdrop to highlight the dedication of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution to the mission of national Vietnam War Commemoration. Of more than 11,000 official Commemorative Partners, DAR Chapters and their affiliates account for 1,958. Since 2012, the Chapters have collectively engaged in at least 4,672 commemorative events, thanking and honoring thousands of Vietnam veterans and their families.
On March 23, the Horseshoe Prairie Chapter welcomed area Vietnam veterans to the annual Vietnam Veterans Open House at the Noblesville Township Community Building. The event honored all military veterans including those of the Korean War and World War II. The Chapter wishes to thank all local sponsors of the event and especially our local heroes who served their country.
