Daniel Brad Kerfoot

Daniel Brad Kerfoot, Noblesville, formerly of Arcadia, died Friday, June 8, 2018 at Harbour Manor Health & Living Community at Noblesville.

He was born May 10, 1922 at Thorntown, Ind., to Otis Virgil and Rena Viola (Biddle) Kerfoot.

Upon leaving high school, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He had received the Victory Medal, the American Area Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged March 8, 1946.

He then was employed at Delco Remy at Anderson for over 33 years. After his retirement from Delco Remy, he worked making deliveries for Pioneer Seed Company at Tipton and also for Farm Bureau at Arcadia. Lastly, he worked for Senior Services of Noblesville.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Arcadia, the Arcadia Masonic Lodge that merged with Noblesville Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star of Cicero, Senior Citizens Organization of Noblesville, the American Legion and was a volunteer for Senior Services of Noblesville.

He loved family get-togethers, and his family related that they looked forward to musical times with him playing his harmonica for them. He engaged in sports with his sons and grandsons, rode bicycles with his wife around town until they were in their late 80s, bowled with the Senior Bowling League, and was a gifted wood carver and woodworker. His love of country was known by his patriotism and the American flag that was always flown in his yard.

He married Cathern Louise (Zetterberg) Kerfoot on April 2, 1941. She survives him. Also surviving is a daughter: Nancy Louise Wicker, Carmel; Daniel Virgil Kerfoot, Noblesville; Larry Leon Kerfoot, Anderson; and Garry Eugene Kerfoot, Indianapolis; daughter-in-law: Mickie Kerfoot of Texas; sister-in-law: Leona Zetterberg, Arcadia; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents is a daughter: Cathy Viola Kerfoot, a son: Barry Nelson Kerfoot, brothers: Norman E. Kerfoot, Arthur B. Kerfoot, Otis V. Kerfoot, Jr. and Ernest Leon Kerfoot.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., with burial to follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Donation envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
