Cyclists wanted for Heroes’ Crit & Fit Day

The Heroes Crit & Fit Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at Falls Park, 460 Falls Park Drive, Pendleton.

The annual Heroes Crit & Fit Day centers on the Heroes Foundation’s summit of cancer prevention. This full day of activities is fun for the entire family, centered on healthy lifestyles and wellness, education on cancer prevention, and some exciting bike racing.

Cyclists of all ages will take part in this competitive criterium race. Register for the race at bikereg.com/ic-mac-heroes.

Hundreds of family members, friends and spectators will enjoy watching the racing and visiting the Fit Festival, which includes healthy and wellness vendors offering health screenings and tips on healthy living and lifestyle choices to aid in the prevention of cancer. A blood drive, cancer advocacy groups, screenings, food vendors, Heroes Fun Zone for kids, and beer garden also round out the Fit Festival activities.

Blood drive

All community members are encouraged to be a hero for the cancer community by pre-registering for the blood drive. Unlike medicine, blood products cannot be made in a laboratory. Cancer patients often need red blood cell or platelet transfusions during chemotherapy, surgery or treatment for complications.
