Four Hamilton County cross country teams competed at the Nike Valley Twilight Meet, which took place Saturday evening at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, the site of the IHSAA state finals.
Carmel won the boys race, edging out Cathedral 83-89. Calvin Bates led the Greyhounds with a seventh-place finish.
Fishers took fourth with 113 points and had the highest-placing Hamilton County boys runner: Ethan Meyer finished fourth.
Hamilton Southeastern placed fifth, with Grant Wilson coming in 26th individually. Noblesville was 12th as a team; Justin Amburgy paced the Millers by taking 39th.
In the girls race, Carmel finished second to Beavercreek (Ohio), with the Beavers scoring 59 points to the Greyhounds’ 84. Beavercreek took the top two individual positions, then Carmel’s Phoebe Bates placed third.
Fishers finished fourth as a team, with Abby Carter coming in 24th place. Hamilton Southeastern was fifth; Lulu Black led the Royals by taking 13th place.
