Crash on 146th Street leaves one person dead

Hamilton County Sheriff Department deputies responded to a vehicle crash with injures at approximately 8:14 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of 146th Street and Carey Road.

According to investigators, information received on scene indicated a black Cadillac was traveling westbound on 146th Street and was attempting to turn southbound onto Carey Road when it was struck on the passenger side by a white Honda traveling westbound. After the initial impact, the Cadillac then struck a blue Kia that was stopped on the south side of the intersection facing north.

The drivers of the Kia and Honda were uninjured, but the driver of the Cadillac was unconscious when first responders arrived. It is believed the driver of the Cadillac was experiencing a medical episode unrelated to the crash. The driver of the Cadillac was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis and later died.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
