Craig Lutz

March 12, 1971 – January 8, 2025

Craig Lutz, 53, Noblesville, passed away of a sudden medical emergency on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on March 12, 1971, “getting better looking every year,” to David and Nancy (Lepanen) Lutz in Kokomo, Ind.

Craig was a 1990 graduate of Noblesville High School and graduated from Wabash College in 1994 where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He received a baseball scholarship at Wabash College as a pitcher. For 23 years, Craig was a decorated sales professional for Republic Services. He was a member of the Fifty Club of Noblesville. Craig coached Noblesville High School baseball for nine years, and was starting his 11th year as their softball coach. He loved golfing and long-distance running. Craig and Amy enjoyed traveling out west and hiking – Yellowstone was one of their favorite places.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Amy Lutz, who was his high school sweetheart. They started dating at 15 and were together 37 years. Also surviving are his mother, Nancy Lutz; and his children, Brady (Mattie) Lutz, Hayley (Jordan) Allen, Meghan (Mike) Dunn, and Abbey (Daniel) Scott. He was a devoted Pop-Pop to his grandchildren, Grayson Allen, Addie Allen, Owen Lutz, Renley Dunn, and Kinsley Scott. Craig is also survived by his brothers, Brad (Karen) Lutz and Mark (Erin) Lutz; his in-laws, Vernon & Kathy Zook; his brother-in-law, Steve (Lana) Zook; and several nieces and nephews.

Craig was preceded in death by his father, David Lutz, in 2009.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service at 5 p.m., on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Refuge Christian Church, 11772 E. 196th St., in Noblesville. Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate.
