As of Wednesday, the Indiana State Department of Health has recorded a total of 48,626 COVID-19 cases statewide. ISDH also reports 2,524 people have died as a result of the virus. A total of 530,075 Hoosiers have been tested for COVID-19, with 9.2 percent testing positive.
In Hamilton County a total of 28,167 tests have been performed and 1,596 people have tested positive. ISDH reported 33 new cases in the county on Monday. This is the highest single day of new cases since March 31 with 51 cases. In the county, 101 people have died as a result of COVID-19.
According to Johns Hopkins University, as of Sunday, approximately 25 percent of the 10 million confirmed cases in the world are in the United States.
