As of Wednesday, Hamilton County continues to rank third in positive COVID-19 cases with 392; however, the county now has the state’s second most deaths with 15.

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) says overall Indiana has more than 200 deaths related to COVID-19.

Wednesday’s ISDH report indicated 30 more deaths and more than 400 new cases state-wide. Indiana now has 203 deaths and 5,943 confirmed cases. A total of 30,869 Indiana residents have been tested.

Indiana officials also released new demographics on age and gender of COVID-19 cases.  More females than males have tested positive for the virus.  More people in the age group of 50-59 have contracted the virus compared to other age groups.

According to state officials, 11 residents of Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson have died as a result of COVID-19.

In spite of statewide demographics being released by ISHD officials, and ISDH’s report on the number of deaths at the healthcare facility in Anderson, Hamilton County officials continue to cite HIPAA and refuse to provide similar data.
