County golfers make All-Conference team at HCC meet

Several Hamilton County golfers earned spots on the All-Conference team after their performances at the Hoosier Crossroads Conference boys golf meet Monday at Bear Slide.
Zionsville won the team championship with a score of 296. Noblesville was second, with Westfield third, Hamilton Southeastern fourth and Fishers fifth.
The Millers had three players earn All-HCC status. Clay Merchent scored a 73, followed by Jack Barnes with 74 and Jacob Deakyne with 76.
Westfield also three All-Conference performers. Andrew Lewis shot 75, Ethan Lutz scored 78 and Drake Biggs carded a 79.
The Royals’ Daivic Akala was the low man among all county golfers with a 72, easily giving him All-HCC status. Sam Smith scored a 79 for All-Conference honors as well.
Fishers’ Bryce Robertson shot 78 and Nick Fisher scored 79, giving both All-HCC status.

Team scores: Zionsville 296, Noblesville 303, Westfield 312, Hamilton Southeastern 314, Fishers 328, Avon 332, Brownsburg 344.
Noblesville scores: Clay Merchent 73, Jack Barnes 74, Jacob Deakyne 76, Kyle Claussen 80, Joe Whallon 84.
Westfield scores: Andrew Lewis 75, Ethan Lutz 78, Drake Biggs 79, Stephen Hildebrand 80, Sam Elliott 85.
Southeastern scores: Daivic Akala 72, Sam Smith 79, Chandler Davis 81, John Cheery 82, Sam Crousore 83.
Fishers scores: Bryce Robertson 78, Nick Fisher 79, Shivom Patel 80, Caleb Bopp 91, Noah Chamberlin 92.

Carmel was edged out by Center Grove in the Metropolitan Conference championship, which took place Monday at Wood Wind Golf Club.
The Trojans carded 294 to the Greyhounds’ 295. Four Carmel golfers made the all-county list: Luke Prall with a 72 (third place individual), Nick Dentino with 73 (fourth place), Clay Stirsman with 74 (fifth place) and Cole Harris with 76 (sixth place).

On Saturday, Fishers finished third out of 18 teams at the Mooresville Invitational at Heartland Crossing Golf Course with a team score of 304.
The Tigers were led by Caleb Bopp with a 73, which tied him for fourth individually. Noah Chamberlin shot a 75 to tie for eighth. Bryce Robertson shot 76. Nick Fisher and Shivom Patel both shot 80 to round out the scoring.
