County golfers compete at Hall of Fame Classic

Five Hamilton County girls golf teams played in the Hall of Fame Classic, which took place Saturday at Sandy Pines Golf Club in Demotte.
Third-ranked Carmel was the highest-finishing county school, taking fourth with a score of 321. Katie Kuc, Nina Hecht and Ava Hedrick all carded 79s; Kuc and Hecht both made one birdie. Elizabeth Hedrick scored an 84 and had two birdies.
Westfield finished in sixth place with a 331. Jocelyn Bruch tied for fifth individually by shooting a 74, she also drained three birdies. Cate Jensen carded an 81 with a birdie, while Grace Snyder’s 87 included a birdie as well. Brette Hanavan scored a 91 and made an eagle on the second hole.
Hamilton Southeastern placed seventh by scoring a 342. Chelsea Morrow led the Royals with a 77, including a birdie. Three other HSE players also made one birdie: Julia Eaton did so on her way to an 81, Mara Wilson made one during her round of 86 and Maggie Watson’s tallied a birdie with her 98.
Fishers scored 426 as a team. Kaitlyn Brunnemer led the Tigers with an 87, while Caitlyn Kim’s 92 included a birdie.
Guerin Catholic had three players at the event. Sophie McGinnis scored a 79, making an eagle at hole No. 2. Mckayla Tallman carded an 87, including a birdie.
