County gets several wins at Age Group State

Indiana Swimming’s second major meet of the summer took place last week as the IU Natatorium hosted the 2025 ISI Age Group Long Course Championships.

The first day of action last Thursday consisted of timed finals in the 13-14 age group. Both Carmel Swim Club and Fishers Area Swimming Tigers picked up two wins out of the eight events that took place.

Carmel’s Haley Morris won the Girls 1500 freestyle, clocking in at 17 minutes, 39.72 seconds and leading a 1-2-3 finish for CSC. Sydney Ermel was first in the Girls 50 breaststroke, with a time of 34.08 seconds.

Fishers got a victory from Audrey Wolf in the Girls 50 butterfly, finishing that event in 28.25 seconds. Zara Paton won the Girls 50 backstroke with a time of 31.02 seconds.

Fishers and Carmel saw several swimmers get victories during Day 2 of the championships last Friday.

Fishers got two wins in the 10 and under timed finals. Gabriel Brown won the Boys 200 freestyle in 2 minutes, 16.77 seconds, while Celia Morgan was the champion of the Girls 50 butterfly, finishing in 33.49 seconds.

In the 11-12 age division, Carmel’s Kate Allen was a triple winner. Allen paced the Girls 100 free (58.33), 50 butterfly (29.12) and 400 free (4:28.56).

Grace Gannon picked up two victories for FAST by taking the Girls 100 breaststroke (1:15.01) and 200 backstroke (2:27.05). Her Fishers teammate Gatlin Babcock won the Boys 100 breaststroke in 1:18.27.

The success continued for both clubs in the 13-14 division. Fishers’ Ashlyn Hayes won the Girls 200 free (2:05.88), with Wolf taking the Girls 100 butterfly (1:02.06). FAST won the Girls 400 medley relay in 4:24.56.

Carmel won two events in the 13-14 age group. Madelyn Yonkus was first in the Girls 400 individual medley (5:06.57), while Mack Allen won the Boys 400 IM (4:43.28).

Day 3 of the meet took place last Saturday. Carmel and Fishers continued their winning ways, but another local swim club picked up a victory as well. Noblesville Swim Club triumphed in the Girls 10 and under 200 medley relay, clocking in at 2:31.79.

Fishers’ Brown added two more victories to his collection, placing first in the Boys 100 butterfly (1:10.33) and 100 free (1:04.09), where he led a 1-2 finish; Jace Jackson took second. The FAST boys also won the 200 medley relay in 2:24.71.

In 11-12 action, Gannon added a pair of wins, with victories in the Girls 100 butterfly (1:03.54) and 200 breaststroke (2:42.76). Carmel’s Kate Allen also picked up another win, pacing the Girls 200 free race in 2:06.13, while CSC’s Girls 200 medley relay team placed first in 2:09.19.

Fishers had three wins in 13-14 competition. Hayes triumphed in the Girls 400 free (4:28.22). FAST also won the Girls 200 free relay (1:49.92) and the Girls 200 medley relay (2:00.33.)

Carmel’s Mack Allen won the Boys 400 free, clocking in at 4:14.61.
