Are you a woman who has served in the U.S. armed forces?

Celebrate Women Veterans Day on Thursday, June 12 at Hamilton County’s only public military library and museum: the Clay Township Military Library and Museum, a place dedicated to honoring your service, sharing your stories, and connecting you with fellow women veterans. The museum is located at 10801 N. College Ave., Carmel.

Women Veterans Day marks the anniversary of the 1948 Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, a groundbreaking moment that gave women a permanent place in our nation’s military. This day is more than a commemoration – it’s a celebration of your courage, resilience, and the unique contributions you and your sisters-in-arms have made throughout history.

Gather for an afternoon of camaraderie, recognition, and inspiration. Enjoy meaningful fellowship, share your experiences, and help honor “HER story” – the legacy of women who have paved the way and those who continue to serve today. Whether you’d like to share your story, be recognized for your service, or simply connect with others who understand your journey, your presence will make this observance truly special.

As a nonprofit, volunteer-run museum, the Clay Township Military Library and Museum is committed to preserving and sharing the stories of local veterans, especially the remarkable women who have served. Come as you are, bring a fellow veteran, and celebrate the power of your service together.

Be part of honoring HER legacy. Your story matters.

  1. Is there a specific time in the “afternoon” that the gathering will start?
