Community First Bank of Indiana (CFB) has been named a recipient of the Indiana Bankers Association’s (IBA) Commitment to Community (C2C) Award, a prestigious recognition celebrating outstanding community service and outreach by Indiana banks.

CFB won in the category of banks with assets between $750 million and $3 billion.

The C2C Award, presented at the IBA Mega Conference on May 29, honors banks that demonstrate exceptional dedication to improving the lives of Hoosiers through meaningful service initiatives. This year’s award recognizes community service efforts performed during the 2024 calendar year, including ongoing projects that originated in prior years.

“We’re incredibly proud to receive the IBA’s Commitment to Community Award,” CFB Vice President and Director of Marketing Lainey Schroer said. “This award is meaningful to us because it reflects the heart of who we are – people who care deeply about serving our neighbors, supporting local causes, and investing in the well-being of the communities we call home.”

In 2024, CFB deepened its commitment to community impact by donating over $174,000, collaborating with more than 100 nonprofits, and launching a nonprofit learning series to build long-term capacity for local leaders. With 71 percent of employees volunteering over 2,000 hours, CFB’s approach blends financial support, strategic partnerships, and hands-on service to meet the evolving needs of the communities it serves.

CFB was selected by a panel of independent judges who evaluated nominees based on the impact, innovation, and sustainability of their community service programs.
