Tuesday evening, Dec. 10, Moyer Fine Jewelers opened their doors to Westfield Education Foundation (WEF) for its third annual Bourbon and Bling.
Guests enjoyed culinary creations by Prime 47 as well as bourbon tastings, signature cocktails and samples of St. Elmo’s legendary shrimp and their famous cocktail sauce. Moyer’s jewelry sales staff were available for guests to shop the amazing selection, and 15 percent of anything sold that night went to Westfield Washington Schools (WWS).
“Bourbon & Bling allows us to build conversations, grow scholarships, and connect with community partners,” WEF Director Ashley Knott said. “We are so thankful for our friends at Moyer Fine Jewelers for sharing their space with us in support of Westfield schools.”
Since its inception in 1986, WEF has been investing in and empowering WWS students and staff.
“In 2024 alone, we awarded scholarships to 10 percent of all graduates, distributed over $50,000 in teachers grants, and backed innovative programs throughout the district,” WEF President Kyle Messmore said. “We’re excited to announce seven new scholarships made possible by the generosity of CSO Architects, CORE Construction, Schmidt Associates, Garmong Construction, Meijer Najem, Performance Services, and Ivy Tech. And we’re hopeful we can finalize two more soon.”
In addition to funding scholarships, WEF launched a Supply Hub this past year to deliver hundreds of items to ensure students have what they need to be able to learn.
“As our district rapidly grows, so does our student population,” Messmore said. “We remain committed to ensuring every student has the necessary resources to succeed.”
The evening ended with a raffle featuring sought after bottles of bourbon, including a complete, eight-bottle set of Blanton’s and a single bottle of prized Pappy Van Winkle 12 Year, as well as a $2,000 gift certificate to Moyer.
In addition to the raffle, a silent auction and wine pull raised more funds.
“We love to support all Westfield charities but especially the school system,” Moyer Marketing Director Laura Kasparian said. “We’re happy to invest in the community and in the kids, so this event means a lot to us.”
Other sponsors for the event included Everwise Credit Union, Kroger Gardis & Regas Attorneys, Market District, Noble Wine & Spirits, Republic National Distributing Company, and Tom Roush Mazda.
“It takes a big crew to make a night like this successful,” Knott said.
