Hamilton County Commissioner Mark Heirbrandt was recently reappointed as a member of the National Association of Counties (NACo) Transportation Steering Committee. He previously served a four-year term and was selected to serve another.

Heirbrandt reflected on this reappointment: “I am grateful and excited to continue being a member of the NACo Transportation Steering Committee. This has served as a great catalyst for brainstorming and collaboration to learn what other counties are doing across America. I look forward to continuing to work and learn alongside my fellow committee members to bring back solutions that best serve the residents of Hamilton County.”

Heirbrandt is one of only two members of the committee hailing from Indiana.

Through NACo, counties unite to advocate for county priorities in federal policymaking, promote exemplary county policies and practices, nurture leadership skills and expand knowledge networks, optimize county and taxpayer resources and cost savings, and enrich the public’s understanding of county government. Across America, there are 3,069 county governments, 40,000 county elected officials, and 3.6 million county employees.2
