Songbook Academy in Concert

The Palladium

The Songbook Academy in Concert is an exciting showcase of the next generation of artists celebrating the enduring influence of the American Songbook. Hosted by Michael Feinstein, this multimedia concert features talented young vocalists from across the nation in solos and production numbers paying tribute to iconic composers and lyricists of American popular music from George Gershwin to Duke Ellington. These emerging artists infuse their performances with passion and skill, breathing new life into classic songs that have defined generations. The Songbook Academy is the flagship education program of the Great American Songbook Foundation.

Songbook Showcase
Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m.
The Palladium

In this public performance, now at a new evening time, all 40 of the 2024 finalists will perform one song each on the Palladium stage. The Songbook Showcase will take place before a live audience and also will be streamed for national viewers, with special performances from Michael Feinstein and Grammy-winning guest mentor Nicole Zuraitis.

Jungle Jams Summer Camp
July 22 to 26 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
The Studio Theater

Come out and jam! Imagine living among animal friends in a jungle filled with rhythm instruments, music, and movement. Miss Lisa (a.k.a. “Groove Lady”) and her stuffed animals introduce your child to the fun and excitement of recreational music making. Jungle Jams is a creative summer camp program in which kids learn about positive character qualities as well as concepts like rhythm and groove through music and physical activities.

Live at the Center: Brandon Meeks Quintet
Tuesday, July 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Bassist and bandleader Brandon Meeks has been a force in Indianapolis’ music scene for nearly two decades, contributing to more than 1,000 recordings by various artists. He collaborates with a dynamic collective of regional musicians, infusing classic jazz sensibilities with a contemporary urban edge inspired by visionaries like Christian McBride and Madlib. The quintet includes Meeks on upright bass, Josh Strange on vibraphone, Brandon Douthitt on saxophone, Kendall Carter on piano and Greg Artry on drums.
