Fore! The City of Carmel will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of Brookshire Golf Club, which saw its first round of golf on June 25, 1971.
The golf course was established as a key feature of what was then a new residential development now known as the Brookshire area, which is east of Keystone Parkway and stretches from 116th Street to Main Street and includes several neighborhoods.
The community is invited to join in the celebration of Brookshire and learn more about its history from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 25 at the Clubhouse at Brookshire. This free event will include reflections by city and golf club officials, food, beverages and (if weather permits) fun golf activities and contests for prizes.
Rain or shine, the event will be held at the Clubhouse, 12120 Brookshire Pkwy., Carmel.
