Cicero’s Lights Over Morse Lake

Reporter photo

We never really thought about it before, but there are some striking similarities between Cicero and Fishers (note the collective groan you can hear coming from both places right now because we wrote that). Just hear us out . . .

Both have reservoirs that often get referred to as lakes. Both have different microcultures than the rest of Hamilton County (oh, you know it’s true, and we know you would never admit it). Both have restaurants that were honored in 2022 by Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch as having one of the top five best tenderloin sandwiches in the entire state. And both have so much patriotic spirit that their Independence Day festivities go on for several days. The difference, of course, is that Cicero plans theirs to include the holiday itself, while Fishers gets done before July even begins.

Lights Over Morse Lake is still going on through Sunday, so if you have some fuel left in your patriotic tank, head up to Cicero and get festive!
