Cicero native Stephen Michel has taken on a new role at Farm Credit Mid-America as a senior financial officer at its Kokomo office.
Michel has been with Farm Credit Mid-America for 13 years, initially serving as a credit officer, where he analyzed retail agricultural customers in northern Indiana. He later transitioned to commercial agriculture, focusing on large grain producers in Northwest Indiana.
Most recently, Michel led a team of credit officers, providing financial analysis and feedback to retail agriculture clients. His deep understanding of the retail agriculture industry gives him the knowledge and expertise to guide clients through the complexities of the agricultural landscape, ensuring they make informed financial decisions that align with their goals.
“I’m excited to bring my 13 years of experience serving the retail ag portfolio to my new role as a senior financial officer working with Howard and Tipton County agricultural customers,” Michel said. “As someone who grew up in Tipton, I am truly excited to return to the area, where my spouse and I have strong family ties. Agriculture is such a personal journey, and I understand that success looks different for everyone. My goal is to provide thoughtful insights and support our local producers in a community I deeply care about as they navigate both the challenges and opportunities that arise.”
Michel earned his degree in agricultural finance from Purdue University in 2008. With deep personal ties to the area, he is passionate about fostering relationships with local producers and understanding their needs.
“Stephen consistently brings valuable insights and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities our customers face every day,” says Natasha Cox, regional vice president with Farm Credit Mid-America. “We invite anyone in the community to stop by our office to meet Stephen and the rest of our team to learn more about how we can support their futures.”
