This year’s mild weather brought out a variety of interesting and diverse Cicero Christmas Parade participants and a parade route lined with people of all ages enjoyed the event.

The Christmas parade featured fire trucks, police vehicles, Hamilton Heights High School Band, Scouts, veterans, churches, organizations and local businesses all decked out for Christmas and spreading holiday cheer. In addition, there were Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Gingerbread man, horses, dogs and llamas.

Young and old alike were delighted by the floats, trucks, wagons, cars, lights and music. In the end, it was good ol’ Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus who were the highlight of the parade. This annual event, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Cicero, is conducted the first Saturday of December and is considered the launch of the local holiday season.
