Cicero Kiwanis welcome Beck’s Kevin Cavanaugh

Dr. Kevin Cavanaugh, Beck’s Director of Research, spoke to members of the Cicero Kiwanis Club at last week’s breakfast meeting. The meeting was hosted at the Beck’s Research Center where Dr. Cavanaugh touched on the local company’s growth over the last 30 years and how it has grown to become the largest family-owned retail seed company in the United States.

Dr. Cavanaugh also discussed Beck’s corn breeding program and recent acquisition of a research facility on the island of Kauai in Hawaii.

“I enjoyed the opportunity to learn a little more about Beck’s which has deep roots in our community,” said Cicero Kiwanis Club President Robin Mills. “An unwavering mission, strong leadership and its ability to stay on the cutting edge of technology in agriculture has contributed to their long-term success.”
