The Kiwanis Club of Cicero will honor and thank local veterans with a special breakfast and program on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Cicero United Wesleyan Church, 210 Washington Ave. The breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by a special program featuring former United States Marine and prisoner of war survivor Larry Clark. The program concludes at 10 a.m.
The annual Veterans’ breakfast, now it its 11th year, is free to local veterans and their guests. Breakfast for all other visitors is $5 per person. Members of the Hamilton Heights Key, Builders and K-Kids clubs will partner with the Cicero Kiwanis to help with this year’s breakfast.
“The event is designed to honor area veterans for their contributions to their communities and nation,” said Cicero Kiwanis President Mitch Russell. “We believe it’s important to honor all those who have sacrificed for our freedoms that we all share today. This complimentary breakfast is a small way we can share our appreciation for our veteran’s service and contributions in peace and war.”
RSVPs for the Veterans’ breakfast can be sent by email to CiceroKiwanis@gmail.com or by calling the RVSP “hotline” at (317) 678-0713 and leave a message with the name(s) and number of guests attending.
