Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Cicero Fire Department, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for our Fire Truck Push-In Ceremony on Saturday, May 3, 2025. This marked the first event of its kind for our community, and it was made truly special by the overwhelming support we received.
We were honored to welcome more than 90 attendees, including residents, families, and friends who came out to celebrate this proud moment with us. We are especially grateful to our town officials, county officials, and our neighboring fire departments for their presence and continued partnership. Your support reinforces the strong bonds that make our Cicero community exceptional.
This tradition – a ceremonial “push” of a new fire truck into the station – symbolizes a new chapter for our department and honors the long-standing customs of the fire service. We are excited to place this apparatus into service, ready to respond whenever we are needed.
Thank you again for standing with us and showing your pride in our department. We are proud to serve such a supportive and engaged community.
A special thank you to the Cicero Fire Department Community Organization for providing refreshments for the event. Don’t miss out on their annual pancake breakfast on May 10, 2025, from 7 to 11 a.m.
On behalf of our department,
Lance Overholser
Fire Chief
Cicero Fire Department
