Friday afternoon at Red Bridge Park in Cicero, members of the public, community leaders and law enforcement officials who have known him for decades turned out to thank outgoing Cicero Police Chief David Hildebrand for his 39 years of service to the community. Hildebrand’s last official day as police chief is Sunday, after which Jim Hunter will become the next chief of police for Cicero.

Hildebrand said, “It has been a pleasure to be here all these years. I have been fortunate to work here this long and have support from the public and the councils. That’s the biggest thing: It’s been great working here and thank you for that.”
