Charlyene Mae VanCleave, 86, Carmel, became an angel in the presence of our Lord on August 14, 2021 after a battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born in Indianapolis on March 4, 1935 to Ray and Lucille (Davis) Jaggar. Charlyene was a 1953 graduate of Broad Ripple High School.
Charlyene worked at First Baptist Church of Indianapolis and was also their Wedding Coordinator for many years.
In addition to her parents, Charlyene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Van) Van Cleave; son, Mark Lewman VanCleave; and brothers, Merritt (Joanna) and Lynne Jaggar.
Survivors include her sons, Chris (Lisa) Herbert and Dean (Linda) Jaggar; grandchildren, Jared and Karli Herbert, Terra (Kurtis) Kim, Blake Richards; and great-grandchildren, Connor Kim and Milania Richards.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Bussell Family Funerals. Service will begin at noon.
