Central Indiana Dance Ensemble’s (CIDE) 25th Anniversary performance of The Nutcracker was worthy of this momentous year: a stunning portrayal of CIDE’s young dancers’ dedication to their art.
The dancers’ efforts, however, would be diminished without the outstanding support of CIDE’s wonderful patrons. CIDE is filled with gratitude for each ticket purchased, and they continue to be humbled by the community’s faithful patronage. On behalf of the Artistic Staff, CIDE’s young performers, their volunteers, and their families, CIDE offers a heartfelt “Thank you – we could not continue without you.”
CIDE is the longest running pre-professional ballet company in the Indianapolis Metropolitan area. Founded in 1999 by artistic director Suzann DeLay, the company started from humble beginnings. CIDE has gone from having only eight main company members to a company of over 60 dancers aged 8 to 18. In the original production of The Nutcracker, CIDE had only 35 dancers in the original cast. The cast for the December 2024 performance was made up of over 135 dancers.
CIDE is also currently celebrating 25 years of providing cultural and educational enrichment to the central Indiana community. To commemorate the 25th anniversary, and to celebrate the continued support of their patrons, CIDE will hold an Anniversary Gala from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at Iron & Ember, 12120 Brookshire Pkwy., Carmel. The event promises an evening of elegance, memories, and inspiration.
This celebratory event will be hosted by Carmel City Councilor Jeff Worrell and will include drinks, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, a champagne toast, and a performance by the Senior Company. There will be silent and live auction items available to bid on. The proceeds will go to support the future growth of CIDE.
Individual tickets are on sale for the event, as well as sponsorship level tables. Click here to purchase tickets.
