St. Nikolaus will be at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6.
This event is in partnership with the IUPUI Max Kade German-American Center and the Indiana German Heritage Society. It is sponsored by Wunderbar Together, Germany and the U.S.; and Wallington Asset Management.
In some areas in Germany when St. Nikolaus visits, children don’t sit on his lap and tell him what they would like for Christmas but rather they prepare to honor him. Some children sing a song, do a dance or even count or say the ABCs. He will then instruct his helper Ruprecht to give the child a gift.
Children will have an opportunity to present their talents to St. Nikolaus from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Kinderecke.
