The City of Carmel and the Chinese Mooncake Festival Committee invite you once again to this year’s festival, set for Saturday, Sept. 21 at Midtown Plaza.

This year’s festival will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Midtown Plaza. There will be a 15-minute parade starting at 6:30 p.m.; performances will begin at 6:45 p.m.

The second most important festival in Chinese culture is the Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival because of where it falls in the lunar calendar year – during the eighth month with a full moon at night.

While traditions for this festival may vary, the sharing and eating of Chinese mooncakes seems to be a consistent part of each celebration.
