CCPR will offer a dozen dance programs this season

Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation’s (CCPR) winter/spring program guide is here. It features an assortment of virtual and in-person recreation programs including a dozen dance programs for ages 2-15. CCPR’s goal is to provide recreation opportunities for the community to safely connect, move, and learn. This season, do that through dance.

CCPR offers dance programs led by both internal staff and in partnership with locally-owned Dance Class Studio and the International Talent Academy. Dance programs are organized by age group.

Parent/child classes

  • Young kiddos and their parents can enjoy Zumbini and Family Zumba together. Zumbini is also offered virtually for families to enjoy from home.

Preschool/toddler

  • Kiddos can explore ballet, hip hop, or tap dance in preschool/toddler programs. Instructors from Dance Class Studio will introduce these different types of dance and teach participants poise and technique.

Youth

  • Youth programs, designed for ages 4-9, are designed for participants to take their dance skills to the next level. The International Talent Academy helps participants explore their creativity on the stage in Main Stage Show Choir and Main Stage Adventure. Dance Class Studio leads participants through dance exploration as they learn the basics of tap, ballet, and jazz techniques in our Dance Combo program.

Tweens + teens

  • Tween + teen programs are designed for participants ages 9-15 to learn more advanced techniques or explore new types of dance. The International Talent Academy’s Main Stage Show Choir and Main Stage Musical Theatre incorporate dance skills with theatre, singing, writing, and more. Dance Class Studio’s Hip Hop Dance teaches basic hip hop moves for a fun, upbeat dance experience.

What policies are in place to keep participants safe?

  3. If program supplies are used, they are cleaned before and after each program.
  4. Program supplies are not be shared between participants.
  5. Mask should not be worn in Aquatics, Sports, and Wellness programs unless notified.
  6. Masks should be worn in Nature, Creative Arts, Enrichment, and Science & Technology, + Senior programs unless notified.
