The Carmel Clay Historical Society (CCHS) has been awarded the Regional Arts Partners Grant through the Indiana Arts Commission. CCHS was awarded $3,899.
With these funds, CCHS will commission an artist to outline a pioneer village scene on a large canvas and host a collaborative mural painting event. Jill Kniptash, a local educator and artist, is slated to lead the project along with CCHS staff.
CCHS staff will host a program at the Carmel International Arts Festival where local children and their families will be offered the chance to paint a portion of the midwestern farm themed mural using washable acrylic paint and paint brushes. After the festival is over, the mural will be hung in the Children’s Gallery, with a plaque that discusses how it was created.
The goal of this project is to connect the people of Carmel to the new CCHS museum in a fun and memorable way. This event will take place during the 2023 Carmel International Arts Festival.
