Caty Wiegman, Hamilton Heights High School registrar, has been named the Husky Hero for the month of February.

Wiegman, who has been a familiar face at Heights for about a decade before moving into her role as registrar, has proven to be an invaluable source of clerical support to the high school counseling office. While she maintains a full plate of establishing and maintaining student’s academic records, compiling and distributing materials and reports, and responding to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources, she still finds time to hold additional roles and responsibilities that have made a difference that can be seen and felt throughout the building.

Wiegman was recommended for the honor by the high school counseling department, which wrote:

“Caty is our school registrar and if that isn’t enough work, she is also the Freshman Sponsor, helps with athletics, and has recently started a Social Committee to help create a positive and rewarding experience for all of our staff. This has also helped strengthen the community in our building. In December, Caty set up various activities and prizes/treats for the staff at HHHS. The majority of all of this was paid for out of Caty’s own pocket. I believe she needs to be recognized for her hard work in helping each staff member feel seen and heard and appreciated.”

Wiegman said students’ potential and care of school staff is what inspires her.

“Receiving the Husky Hero award is a deeply appreciated honor, affirming the value of my daily contributions,” Wiegman said. “My goal is to be a constant source of support and encouragement for both students and colleagues. Witnessing the immense potential of our students and the unwavering care of our staff fills me with inspiration. If I can uplift a colleague or student, I consider that day a success. I’m incredibly grateful for this recognition and am committed to continuing to positively impact our students, support my team, and serve our community, always striving for excellence.”

Hamilton Heights High School Principal Whitney Gray said, “Caty goes above and beyond in every way. She is constantly looking for ways to help behind the scenes that no one even sees. She has a positive attitude and a willingness to jump in however needed. We are better because of Caty.”
