Cathy Sue Stowe (Wallace)

July 27, 1954 – January 24, 2025

Cathy Sue Stowe (Wallace), a beloved mother, (great) grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 70 years old.

Born on July 27, 1954, in Noblesville, Cathy was the youngest daughter of Lloyd and Mary Catherine (Hines) Wallace. She grew up in Sheridan and was a 1972 graduate of Sheridan High School. As an adult she lived in various cities including Sheridan, Indianapolis, Nashville, Tenn., Kokomo, Ind.; and most recently Huntsville, Ala. Her greatest pride was her family.

Cathy’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted Christian who found comfort and strength in her relationship with God. She often offered prayers and words of encouragement to those in need. Her unwavering belief in God’s grace guided her through life’s challenges and inspired those around her. Cathy had a passion for taking care of her lawn, crafting, reading, traveling, music and movies, and had a deep love for her family and pets.

She was a devoted mother to Cristina (Eric) Huprich, Adrienne Pickett, Thomas (Sheana) Stowe, and Heather (Jacob) Johnson; a loving grandmother to Sarah (Kayla) Bennett, Nicholas Carter, Cora Stowe, Shawn Stowe-Vines, Tobin Johnson, Avery Stowe, Olliver Johnson, Jesse Stowe, Imogen Johnson, and Emily Stowe; and a proud great-grandmother to Noah Bennett.

She is also survived by her siblings, Vance Wallace, Keith (Nancy) Wallace, and Peggy Robinson; as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Lloyd and Mary Catherine (Hines) Wallace; her brother, James Wallace; sister-in-law, Susie Wallace; and many others, including her beloved dogs, Tyke and Robbie.

Her family finds solace in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Savior, embraced by eternal light and love.

A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery in Sheridan.

Cathy will be remembered for her boundless love, steadfast faith, and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
