February 13, 1950 – October 17, 2017
Catherine Ann Whiteley, 67, Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on February 13, 1950 to Joseph and Martha (Nix) Sparlin in Vincennes, Ind. Her father precedes her in death.
Catherine had been an underwriter for Indiana Land Title Association and was also a dedicated volunteer for numerous ALS functions. She was an avid reader and enjoyed hot-air ballooning and balloon chasing. She also enjoyed traveling to the seashore, but her favorite role was being a loving Grandma.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Jason (Amy) Whiteley and Jeremy Whiteley; siblings, Jo (David) Basey, Patricia (Russell) Gordon, Basil (Kathy) Sparlin and Joseph Sparlin; and grandchildren, Ethan, Andrew, Matthew and Maia Whiteley.
A visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, followed by a time of sharing at 3 p.m.
