March 3, 1941 – January 12, 2020
Carolyn Kay Peters, 78, passed away at her home in Sheridan surrounded by her loving family on Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2020. Born March 3, 1941 in Noblesville, she was the daughter of the late Delbert Lacy and Dorothy Mae (Clendenin) Holloway.
Carolyn was a 1959 graduate of Walnut Grove High School and worked for many years as an electrical worker with Naval Avionics in Indianapolis.
She was a member of the Sheridan Bible Church and a volunteer with Sheridan Christian Academy where she was their Art Director. For many years she, along with the other instructors at Sheridan Christian Academy, helped shape many young minds in the community, giving them a strong foundation upon which to build the rest of their lives.
A loving mother and grandmother, Carolyn cherished every moment she was able to spend with her family, students and friends.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Daniel W. Eiler, Michael D. Miles (Donna), Greenfield, John M. Miles (Mai Lia), Westfield, and M. Carolie Miles, Westfield; grandchildren, Caleb Miles (Jessica), Abbigail Dawson (Nicholas), Kimberly Miles, Johnny Miles, Joey Miles and Lucy Miles; her great-grandchild, Annie Dawson; sister-in-law, Peggy L. Swihart; nephew, Marc A. Holloway; and her first cousin and close friend, Debi Nance.
