Carol Joanne Barbee, 91, Noblesville, passed away on July 31, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 10, 1930, in North Platte, Neb., the daughter of Arlie and Virginia (Placek) Whelchel.
Carol graduated from Walnut Grove High School with the Class of 1949. In 1952, she married James Barbee and started their family life together. She also worked for 26 years with the Department of Defense at Fort Benjamin Harrison.
Carol loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting with her sister, her extended family and her friend, Paula. In addition, she found time to sell Avon, play cards, and go shopping. She loved to sing as well.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, and her son-in-law, Daniel Clark.
Surviving her are two daughters, Jennifer Clark and Michele (Steve) Harrison, both of Noblesville; grandchildren, Shanna (Derek) Clark, Kristen (Adam) Scott, Justin (Michelle) Harrison, and Jordan Harrison, all of Noblesville, and Angela (Blake) Stoehr of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Zoe Easlick, Noah and Oliver Scott, Rylee, Austin, Jayce, and Asher Harrison, Ashleigh Kaitlyn and Andrew Stoehr; a sister, Pat Kinzer of Noblesville; and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was very grateful for all the people in her life, and they will dearly miss her.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hartley Funeral Home Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero, with private graveside rites at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
