Carmel wins Unified track sectional, Fishers places third

Carmel won its first-ever IHSAA Unified track and field sectional on Saturday at Noblesville’s Hare Chevrolet Field.
The Greyhounds scored 128 points, with Harrison taking second and Fishers third. All three schools will advance to next Saturday’s (May 26) regional at Kokomo.
First-place finishers for the ‘Hounds included Joe Wede, Michael Conway, Joe Blake, Lauren Johnson, and the girls 4×100 relay team of Megan Daggett, Anisha Katayayan, Whitney Lam and Liz Piha. Fishers first-place finishers were Marcos Maldonado, Devin Hankins and Jack Smith.
Westfield placed fifth at the sectional, with Ethan Taylor and Audrey Kriech earning first-place finishes. Noblesville was sixth; Dylan Feil had a first-place finish. Hamilton Southeastern tied for 10th, with Nick Mutchner earning first-place finish.
