The Greyhounds outscored the Golden Eagles in each period, leading 6-1 after one quarter and 14-3 at halftime. Carmel junior Ike Stitle dominated the game, scoring nine goals.

Junior Evan Coulter dished out four assists and scored three goals, with senior Cain Shelburne also putting in three goals. Sophomore Lincoln O’Leary, junior Maxwell McCord and junior Elijah Warren all added two goals.

“We felt like we were pretty strong,” said Greyhounds coach Keith Allen, whose team is now 3-0 for the season. “That’s a well-coached team in Guerin. Coach (Charlie) Barry always has them ready to go. We have a lot of different guys that can play defense. We got a very senior-heavy team and a goalie that sees the ball really well. Offensively, we have several guys who can dodge and move the ball to the open spot.”

Vincent Elliott scored two goals for the Golden Eagles, with J.B. Ford and Luke Shrift also scoring one goal.

Carmel travels to Grand Rapids, Mich. this weekend to play two games. The Greyhounds take on Forest Hills Central Friday, then plays at East Grand Rapids on Saturday. Guerin Catholic’s next game is Tuesday at Hamilton Southeastern.
