Carmel Symphony Orchestra launches new Saturday night concert series on Facebook

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra will launch weekly Saturday night shows on Facebook, beginning this weekend and continuing until the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and live concerts can resume. “Let the Music Play … Getting to Know YOUR CSO” will premier at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11 on the CSO Facebook page.

“We can’t wait for the day we can reopen the Palladium and welcome our fans with many hugs and wonderful music,” said Janna Hymes, Music Director. “But until that day, we want to comfort our fans the best way possible. We can’t think of a better way than to share beautiful music from the talented musicians of the CSO, who will be playing from their own homes.”

The 30-minute show will feature a variety of musicians playing selections designed to help lift the hearts of those watching and listening from home. This free show will be easy to access. Simply connect with the CSO on Facebook and tune in to watch the special video performance.

“We are doing this to stay connected with our fans, but we also feel strongly that music is a uniting, healing force that will help bring us together in a special way,” said Hymes.

During this weekend’s show, expect to see Chris Rund on double bass and Joerg and Annemarie Schreiber on cello and violin.
