The second Women in Leadership event hosted by the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) on March 22 was well attended and attracted a multi-generational audience.

The panelists were inspirational and honest in sharing their experiences and advice. The engaging question and answer session made it clear that the panelists had connected with the audience in a meaningful way. Thank you to these panelists:

  • Janet Holcomb, Former First Lady of Indiana
  • Kelly Corcoran, Conductor
  • Evelyn Magley, CEO of The Basketball League

The addition of the Chamber performance by the Woodwind Quintet added a wonderful introduction to the afternoon’s discussion. The musical selections were all by women composers including Valerie Coleman, Germaine Tailleferre, and Marie Clémence de Grandval. Members of the Woodwind Quintet included:

  • Monika Spangler, flute
  • Emily Cook, clarinet
  • Lisa Kozenko, oboe
  • Kathleen Moniaci, bassoon
  • Sharon Weyser, horn

Thanks goes to:

  • Carmel Clay Public Library for sponsoring the Woodwind Quintet
  • Patricia Beyland for sponsoring Kelly Corcoran’s appearance
  • Reis-Nichols Jewelers as event sponsor
